BlephEx™

Do you have inflamed, dry eyes? Do you suffer from burning, tearing, or itching? If any of these symptoms sound familiar, you may have a common eyelid inflammation known as blepharitis. Introducing BlephEx™, a new, in-office procedure that allows physicians to take an active role in treating blepharitis.

Blepharitis

Blepharitis DiagramBlepharitis is very common and many patients suffer from some type of blepharitis symptoms, including burning, crusting, itching, redness, tearing, and overall discomfort.

Blepharitis has two forms, being anterior blepharitis (affecting the outside of the eyelid at the eyelashes) or posterior blepharitis (affecting the interior of the eyelids where oils are secreted to help lubricate the eyes). Individuals may have a combination of both anterior and posterior forms of blepharitis simultaneously.

How does BlephEx™ Work?

BlephEx™ is a simple, non-invasive procedure that reduces bacterial fragments by exfoliating the eyelids. This is done by precisely spinning a medical-grade micro-sponge along the edges of your eyelids to clean them and clear any debris. Because bacteria is the main source of inflammatory lid disease, this procedure promotes the overall health of your eyes.

After the BlephEx™ procedure, patients will often experience an immediate decline in symptoms.
